I’m planning the migration of multiple websites from Google Analytics to Matomo. I understand that when you start the migration with the plugin the site is created and I’ll be able to start monitoring the site with the Matomo tracking code.
But the documentation says “Just make sure the GA import End Date is prior to the date the tracking code starts tracking” so how could I avoid the existence of blank periods of time (I suppose hours) without data? Let’s say my end date is March 1, 2025, and I start monitoring the web with Matomo on the morning of the 2nd. What would happen to the data from those hours during the night from the 1st to the 2nd? Would it be lost?
Would it be possible to set the end date in the plugin let’s say the day after configuring the Matomo tracking code, so that altough I have duplicated data I can in some way identify what data comes from GA or not and I manually delete the data I don’t need?
