Consequences of editing piwik my sql database on updates

Hello ,

i’ve recently started using piwik ,
i’ve added few columns to exisintg piwik tables and created a new table in piwik database,
my query is will this cause any issue during piwik version upgradations?

it might, but adding columns should be OK as long as you don’t modify the code source code which will get overwritten in each update

Matt, thanks a lot for the reply. i haven’t edited any of the source code,
can you tell me ,the type of updates that try to change the existing piwik table structure (if any)
