I want to use piwik config_id to recognize unique visitors. My concern is config_id is a hash created out of 14 columns, one of which is IP address. My site has more visits from Indian people and in India dynamic IP is used. I suppose this will affect the accuracy of user tracking. Can anyone please let me know if I am correct, and if so please suggest a solution for this.
If your users have cookies enabled, then Piwik will first use the UUID found in the first party cookie. So even if the fingerprinting is wrong, it should still track your unique visitors accurately as long as they use cookies
