Can we use click data captured by heatmaps in like capturing the number of clicks on a page

hi @heurteph-ei , can we access the heatmap functionality of capturing clicks , and maybe save it in a custom dimension for the page, or can we configure a html tag to capture number of clicks on a page

Hello @vverma21 Matomo Heatmaps & Session Recordings cannot be used as a data source for Custom Dimensions, and it isn’t possible to extract or save heatmap click data into dimensions. The heatmap system is designed to run independently in the background and stores its data in a format optimized for visualization.

If your goal is to record the number of clicks on specific elements, you can achieve this using standard Matomo tracking methods. For example, you can track using tag manager: https://matomo.org/blog/2019/06/easily-track-events-within-matomo-analytics-thanks-to-matomo-tag-manager/
