Can I prevent the visitor's IP address from being sent to Looker Studio?

Hi, maybe this question has already been answered… Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information.

I’m afraid that transmitting IP addresses does not comply with the GDPR.

Can I configure the Matomo Connector so that IP addresses are not transmitted?

Hi @Bernd_Maus ,

Your could simply anonymize it entirely in Matomo, so that sending it to Looker Studio won’t have any consequences.

sorry for the late reply - thanks for your kind help.
Thats what I found as information as well. We finaly decided to use Power BI becasue of data privacy reasons.

You’re right to check this. IP addresses are considered personal data under GDPR. I’d first verify whether the connector respects Matomo’s IP anonymization settings, because if it does, you may already be covered without needing to disable IP transmission entirely.
