Campaign Tracking Not Working in 1.2?

I just made a clean install of Piwik 1.2. I am trying to setup campaign tracking. I simply append ?piwik_campaign=whatever-i-want to my URLs that point to my site (yes Piwik JS tracker is installed on all pages correctly) ut it does not record any data against a campaign of the name “whatever-i-want”, or any campaign data at all.

Is there a bug in 1.2, or, am I doing something wrong?
