Best OS for Piwik

Hi guys,
Currently I’ve got Piwik sitting on my cPanel box but I’m looking to move Piwik to its own box so that cPanel can’t interfere with it. What OS should I use? I’ve only ever used CentOS but I’m wondering if there is a better option for it?

I’m hoping to follow this rough guide to install even though I’ve never used any of it before. Has any had any experience setting this up from scratch?
