All sites tab Dashboard very slow loading

Hi all,

I run the latest update of Piwik,
But from the begining of the new Piwik 2.0 the All sites tab with realtime visitors,
loads very very slow. some times its over 4 minutes to load the today overview.

I have 28 websites on mij Piwik dashboard so that must not be the problem.

Try deleting your temp folder contents and after that if still slow try deleting and readding each widget back again to the dashboard.

Setup this: How to Set up Auto-Archiving of Your Reports - Analytics Platform - Matomo

Hi,

Same thing here - “All Websites” screen loads about 4(!) minutes. I’ve made several settings changes to speed things up (see below)- no luck.
Can anyone help? Piwik cannot be this slow, it must be something wrong in configuration!

Here is my configuration information:

Websites: ~400
Total visits/month: ~8k
Total pageviews/month: ~17k

Piwik configuration:

Version - latest (2.1.0)
“Real time” - off
Regularly delete old visitor logs from the database (older then 6 month): yes
Third party plugins activated: 0

Hosting data:

Hosting type: shared
Memory: no info
PHP Version 5.4.24 with memory_limit=512 MB
PHP Cache (APC) usage: no info
Web Server: Apache 2.2.26
Load balancing: no
SSD drive: no

mySQL configuration

Total DB size: ~160 MB
Mysql tables type: MyISAM (not InnoDB )
MySQl innodb_buffer_pool_size param: 1,073,741,824
innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit=0 (not 2)

please use latest beta version,
Then setup: How to Set up Auto-Archiving of Your Reports - Analytics Platform - Matomo

Hi, Matt

I’ve installed the latest 2.2.0 version. 400 site “All sites” report loads after about two minutes, weekly & more does not show up at all.
I’ve made all the optimization I could find on this forum - no luck

Jacob.

To make it load fast, follow instructions to setup the cron in: How to Set up Auto-Archiving of Your Reports - Analytics Platform - Matomo

Hi, Matt

Cron works and creates the expected output(see below), but weekly reports fail anyway.
Piwik made a record in the error_log file : “Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home1/cleopat1/public_html/piwik/core/DataTable/Manager.php on line 104”

Any ideas?

Jacob.

See faq Piwik reports this error and doesn't continue: "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in ..." - Analytics Platform - Matomo

Bingo!

As it figured out, it was PHP version issue with the hosting, cron run with old PHP 5.2 and as a result archiving was not done properly.
Now runs just fine and I can get monthly reports during 15-20sec.

Thanks a lot, Matt !
