Lately since the week between the 24 th and the 30th of August, the number of visits related to Ads campaigns is very different to the number of clics on google Ads. In Matomo : 26 visits for 1270 clicks in Ads.
Am I the only one with these strange figures ?
Check whether the Google Ads tracking parameters are still being passed correctly to the landing pages. A change in auto-tagging, redirects, consent settings or campaign URLs could cause Matomo to miss a large portion of the visits.
Also compare Matomo’s raw page visits with the campaign-attributed visits. If normal traffic looks fine but campaign traffic dropped suddenly around August 24–30, then track the setup.
Hi Tristan, you are probably not the only one experiencing this. A big gap between Google Ads clicks and Matomo visits can happen because of tracking issues, consent settings, ad blockers, redirects or changes in campaign/URL parameters.
I would first check whether the Google Ads tracking parameters are still being passed correctly and whether Matomo is receiving the visits. Also compare the data over a few days to see if the discrepancy started exactly around August 24 30.
I think there is an issue with Google Anaalytics. Same thing is happening with me on Google Search Console as I’m seeing very different results there as compared to the actual analytics.
Many thanks for your reply ! From what I have found it impacts global visits, the traffic sources “Direct” & “Campaigns” seem the most impacted being almost divided by 2.
