Running the Matomo WP Plugin on a 5.9 WordPres site

I have this warning, non critical in my Matomo configuration and wonder how I should deal with it.

Those functions are lacking and I have searched my controlpanel on the webhost and reviewed php settings and options yet find nothing on how to activate that.

An additional small issue, how can I force Matomo to run in English despite having the WP site in another language? The Matomo WP interface is in English, but the additional linkouts to the control panel and reports > … /wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/index.php are in the wrong language.
