Using a CDN

#1

Hello there,

I work with a site that handles over 1 million sessions a day, we typically use Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) for our asset files such as images and JavaScript.

If I edited the tracking code Piqik auto-generates and placed the piwik.js on a CDN what other changes will I need to make to get the tracking working?

Is it even possible?

TIA

Cheers,

Blaiz0r.

Of course you can put the piwik.js on the CDN, you don’t even have to modify the tracking code.

For other Piwik & load balancing environments, check the FAQ: New to Piwik - Analytics Platform - Matomo

Please explain why no tracking code would not need to be modified.

I have a CDN that only serves static .js files so how would it work? My tracking site host is http://analytics.domain.com & my cdn URL is http://static.netdna.com
