i would like to install and use Matomo on a local single machine and track user’s clicks. The idea is rather simple - to have few html pages and track user’s choices and time spent. Please advise what would be the easiest way,

Just to be sure, the site you will track is on the same machine as your Matomo instance?
Than simply set enable_internet_features=0 and use the given tracking code.
