Transitions of Downloads

I want to know from where a download was initiated? A referrer should be available when the user clicked onto a link of a Webpage, if there is no referrer, it should be a direct link or a link within an email e.g. The main reason is to check email success.

Within the download statistics, there is no ‘transitions’-link available. Is there any other way to get this Information?
