Tracking hyperlink inserted into an email

We use Matomo to gather stats from our Intranet. Is there a way to track if a hyperlink has been clicked if it was inserted into an email.

Example. We send out all staff emails and have a hyper link to a PDF document located on our Intranet. I don’t see a way to track when the link was clicked and the PDF was opened. Is this possible?

Hi,

As in the case of a link directly to a PDF Javascript is never executed, the only way to track it is LogAnalytics or not linking to the pdf, but a (tracked) website redirecting to the PDF.
