Tracking goal for a flash player

Hello everybody, I’m encountering some problems trying to track a goal.

I manage a website in which users upload mp3s, that are embedded into website page via a flash audio player ( WordPress Audio Player » Standalone version ), and I’d like to track how many play are “done” on every player, to know how many time a track is played.

But unfortunatly I have no idea on how to do so. I tried to track the url of the mp3, but this doesn’t work. The player do not have a callback that I can use to track play action.

Does someone have an idea on how to do so? ( even if the only solution is to add a callback to the player, I’m not able to do it in Flash, but I’m able to do it via JS; this is not my preferred solution, as I would have to edit the plugin code, but if is the only one I’ll do that. ).

Any help and suggestion is apreciated! Thanks!

use the callback so that you can call the Piwik JS as in this example:

so you could defined a call back such as

function() {
piwikTracker.trackPageView('MP3/ name here');

We now have a Media Analytics plugin that tracks Videos & Audio!

More information is available here: The plugin gives useful insights into media / video / audio analytics and adds many new reports, widgets and segments to Piwik.

Works with HTML5 video & audio, Vimeo and YouTube out of the box. Support for other players can be added easily and is documented in the developer docs. We are also happy to add support for more players upon request, please ping us. After installation the plugin will in most cases directly start tracking data see the setup guide
