Hope that Matomo supports using URLs as statistical IDs, not just digital IDs.

This plugin has been written by a third-party developer, so you have to ask them to update the plugin (this should probably be quite easy as nothing major changed):
It seems like someone already created an issue:
Hope this process does not require third-party plugins
Otherwise, once the ID changes, all codes need to be re-laid.
This is a big trouble for managers of multiple websites.
The author seems to no longer update this plugin since 2017.
