SSL to remote MySQL DB

What is the recommended way to enable encryption between a Piwik front-end and its back-end database? There’s decent documentation from MySQL, but scant info regarding exact setup in Piwik.

Also, as a second part of this I’d like any recommendations regarding management of the remote MySQL server…specifically recommendations regarding archiving and other activities that can be done to MySQL from within Piwik. Thanks.

I solved the second part first, by activating the DBStats plugin…still need setup for SSL though. Thanks!

SSL connection to Mysql should be possible, but we haven’t tested it. it’s a mysql feature. Do you have any issue with it?
