Should stats work immediately?

I installed Piwik yesterday and there are zero stats today. I inserted the code as instructed.
Any help is appreciated.

Since I’ve added the code I have registered only one visit 2 days ago, this very strange since Google analytics is showing many more visits. Any help??? Thanks.
