So I want to install Piwik on HostGator shared hosting server, the techs of HostGator said they cannot disable mod_security but they can disable a particular rule ID. What Rule ID should they disable to allow Piwik to install properly. Currently I get this error message for tracking:

**403**

GET request to piwik.php failed. Try whitelisting this URL from HTTP Authentication and disable mod_security (you may have to ask your webhost). For more information about the error, check your web server error log file.
After making this change, restart your web server.

What is a “rule ID”? That sounds like their own proprietary lingo for their hosting. It’s not any kind of standard that we could help you with.

You’ll have to read their hosting documentation.
