Random event trigger spikes

Hello, we are using custom tracking events to measure user behavior.

Sometimes in matomo dashboards I can see random spikes in event triggers that make no sense. Enclosing a screenshot to show example.

This happens to random pages at random times on the domain and there is no spike in traffic that would cause this. Devs have checked event implementation and it seems fine. Curious if anybody has any explanation as to why this happens?

We are using matomo 4.12.3

Can you compare the visits and events graphs?
I suggest you:

1. Analyse the visits log on this specific event in the Matomo reports thanks to segments.
2. Analyse the connection log of your Apache server (find the peaking event label in the server logs)
