Problems with installing Matomo Tag Manager


I wanted to install the Matomo Tag Manager for one of our customers who already use Matomo Analytics. However, after clicking on the Matomo Tag Manager tab and the green “Activate Matomo Tag Manager” button, I have to enter my password, which leads to this error message after entering it and continuing. Has anyone else experienced this error and can help me?


The matomo version is an on-premise version and it is not the newest version. Could updating Matomo lead to solving this issue?

Can you check in the error log file (Linux/Windows?) or event viewer (Windows) the server detail of this error?
