Please stop automatic Updates without a check

The System asked me (on web frontend) to automatically upgrade and after the update it tells me “To run Piwik you need at least PHP version 5.5.9”.

Now our Piwik Site is broken.

Do not deliver the update package to sites that will break!

That’s a very sad and disappointing experience and we are switching to Google Analytics to make sure that won’t happen again.

Which version were you upgrading from? We did implement exactly what you
request in a late 2.x release, maybe you were using an older version?

And is it hard on your server to upgrade php? On a modern host it’s done in
2 clicks
