Piwik not tracking bots despite modification

I’ve been trying to get an idea of how many bots and from what search engines are visiting my site.

Couldn’t find anything in the panel so a quick search brought me to this Piwik faq: How to - Analytics Platform - Matomo

There has been absoultely no difference with the recommended addtion of the following code: &rec=1&bots=1

Is there a seprate page I’m just not seeing that logs bots?

Maybe try the Bot Tracker plugin? http://plugins.piwik.org/BotTracker

Thanks for that Matt, looked promising but it crashed my piwik installation.

Disregard, it’s a php problem. I needed to update to above 5.3 in order to install that module. I’ll create a new post. Thanks.

And you need at least BotTracker 0.46 just released if you’re using 2.2.

Note that plugin only works if you’re using PHP-API tracking. Won’t work with js and/or image tracking.
