Piwik 1.9.1-b3 is not counting the visitors perfect

Hello

Also with the actually Piwik versions - like the versions before - the daily visitors are too less.
For the past week I have done a comparison with Piwik and Woopra.

See picture attachments.

I can’t see a big difference in the amount of visitors.

Each tool has an individual “mechanism” on how it counts visits and visitors since there are a lot variables to consider (e.g. JavaScript enabled, some Browsers or OS’ may block specific JS-Code or anything like that).

We are using Google Analytics an PIWIK simultaneously and have a difference in visitors of around 7-10% (Google is somehow counting a lot more Visits). It is not that of a problem, because that is always (every day, month, etc.) the case. You cannot compare visitor counts 1:1 between stats tools, there’s always kind of a natural deviation.

  4. The difference increases over on each day. Therefore depends on the number of visitors. The difference is less in the morning and the later the evening/night is comming, the difference is more. Actual at 11 am clock it is 51 visitors who Piwik counts too less.
The amount of the difference is dependent on the number of visitors on a website.
As soon as a new day begins and archive.php is running every hour as a cronjob, the amount of Piwik visitors is getting more similar to counted visitors in Woopra. But it is still too less.

  5. If that is the reason for you, then you would also be able to answer the question, why just always Piwik counts less than various other analysis tools.
Or do you mean with your hint that various browsers and OS blocks specialy the Piwik JavaScript code? Or do you mean that other analytic tools are counting ghost visitor and therefore they count always (like 7 – 10%) more visitors than Piwik? Or do you mean possibly that website visitors are blocking specially the Piwik JavaScript Code?

  6. To use a analytic tool that always counts visitors too less, is just as if we were going to a doctor to have a bloodtest in which result than wrong, too less values are listed.
And if such an analytics tool is even used for customers websites, then this is deliver false visitor values to the costumers.

And you should not forget that with every Piwik update new error occur and this costs every time a lot of time, work and in most cases also monney for each webmaster.

For Piwik Adminstrator:
Why is the word “mon-ey” in your forum block list?
Delete the “-” in the word for testing!

What matters moss is the “pageviews” rather than “Visits”. Piwik should track about same number of pages views as GA. Is that not the case?
