Part way into installing Piwik: 500 Server Error

So I extracted the piwik.zip file into my site and went to mywebsite.com -&nbspThis website is for sale! -&nbspmywebsite Resources and Information.

and I got this error

500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.

What do I do?

I’ve never checked server logs, how do I do that?
