I removed these files after the error:

Set to SSL login only - still receiving the error message.

Hi,

The Matomo RSS feed (https://matomo.org/changelog/feed) is currently broken. (see also https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo/issues/14813).

I agree that a more userfriendly warning should be shown and have opened a new issue here:
