Most of Chinese IPs shown as from the USA

A website hosted in Hong Kong with most of its visitors located in mainland China is showing up Piwik statistics that the visitors with Chinese IPs are infact coming from the United States. I’m rather curious as to why it is so? Could this be a bug or am I missing something?

Setting up geo location will solve this problem

The default action for Piwik, when GEOip is not activated, is to use the browser’s current language setting. Your Chinese visitors are probably accessing the site with browsers set to English (USA).

Thanks so much for all of your help. Indeed this was the issue and setting up GEOLocations fixed it right away.

However this did prove out to be a useful experiment that I know now what language the majority of my clients are using! It would be great to have the browser language statistic accessible separately.
