Matomo does not count visits from Mailjet

We are sending our newsletter with Mailjet. The newsletter contains links to our WordPress website that uses Matomo Analytics self-hosted.

Matomo seems to ignore visits from these links. The links sent by Mailjet are https and are in this form : link. [site name] /lnk/AWEAAGRufQ0AAc6LBYoAAQUW1-AAAHkIX7MAJG9wAADTdQBn0AP2xTLaF1e0RLWGxPipJ86LAwAA00M/2/ktl9nyXNXKX6Q7wp6RPTdg/aHR0cHM6Ly9hZ2VudG1hamV1ci5mci9hcnRpY2xlLW9waW5pb24v

Any problem with these links that may prevent Matomo to take them into account ?

Thanks for your help !

Is it possible that the pages don’t contain a Matomo tracker?
The link above must be redirected to your WordPress site by some system, probably Mailjet. Does this happen?
If the Matomo tracking code is included there, then there shouldn’t be any problems with tracking. Especially if your WordPress site is otherwise tracked by Matomo.

Thanks for your reply.
The link did not include a Matomo tracker. Since then, we tested adding a Matomo tracker in the link and it does work.
I still do not understand why Matomo did not count these links ? Because they are redirects ?
Thanks for your insights.

Yes, a tracker cannot be executed during a redirect. The browser that performs a redirect does nothing other than follow the redirect. This means that no Matomo tracker (based on JavaScript) can be executed at that moment.

I hope that explains it.

I didn’t quite understand how a tracker was inserted into a link. The tracker must always be in the HTML of a page. I assume that’s what you meant?
