UPDATE Feb 13th: Released 1.7 beta 10. Please test and confirm this is all good, as it is hopefully the latest release!

Piwik 1.7 BETA has been released!

We would really appreciate if you can help test this release which contains many new exciting features.

To update, simply upload / overwrite all existing files and then visit your Piwik.

NEW FEATURES

  • “Visits to conversion”, “Days to conversion”, “Visit by visit count”, “Visits by days since last visit” reports
  • Metrics picker on all graphs,
  • better sparklines on Overview reports,
  • ability to plot 2 or more metrics on a graph,
  • better CSV/TSV reports (support for expanded=1, translated column names),
  • support for Graphs generated in Pdf/html reports
  • “all websites” much faster when showing hundreds of websites
  • New archive.php script, working very well when piwik hosts thousands of websites
  • and more small features!!

does the overwrite kill existing visitor data??

if so, what can I do?

No data will be lost of course, the update is the same as updating to a stable version of piwik: Update Piwik - Analytics Platform - Matomo

On Aktivate the HeartBeat Timer and send the ping not Sending the a action_name

The ping ist logging as Page Name not defined by Page Titles.

Does 1.7 contain any changes to the database so that earlier versions will be incompatible?

In 1.7 the only schema change is: http://dev.piwik.org/trac/browser/trunk/core/Updates/1.7-b1.php

Since I use b7,

the Evolution # are wrong (still less than yesterday, but +3300% etc, ie for http://www.homeofsolarenergy.com) and the “all websites” didn’t work on first try

How can I downgrade piwik back to 1.6? I tried replacing all of the files with the latest 1.7 beta files, but when I load the dashboard it stalls on “Loading data…” forever. Actually, I’m not sure if this issue was on 1.6 too because I did a fresh installation and immediately overwite it with the 1.7 files.

Edit: I reinstalled 1.6 and it’s working now. I want to try 1.7 because this will be a high traffic installation so I want the upgraded archive script you mention. Any ideas why the dashboard might crash after updating? Or any way I effectively downgrade if I have issues?

date range does not work in b7

  • it is very hard to change the date … try switching from 12-2011 to 01-2012

  • starts with date range and no data

-date range problems
: From 2011-12-01 to 2011-12-31 -> empty

  • EXTREMELY SLOW (Hostgator shared)

the “loading” issue is fixed in trunk; watch for the next beta

Please update to 1.7 BETA 8 which fixes most issues reported in this thread.

Please update to latest beta8 and try again? If you still have issues with the percenatges, please post a screenshot showing the bug.

I updated to b8

though the error seems less common, still some peculiarities

a slightly differnet error, but HOSE DE did have traffic yesterday…so +100% ain’t correct??

If it had 1 visit and now has 2 visits then evolution is +100% :slight_smile:
