Install Error "seems you tried to skip a step"

Hi All,

I am new to Piwik, but thought it looked pretty cool, so wanted to give it a go.

It seems I am falling at the first hurdle however. I get to step 2 of the installer, everything checks out (no errors). But then I click next, and get the attached error.

I have searched the net for this, and found a few hits. As a result, I have checked that:

sessions.use_cookies is set to 1 (it is)
the config and tmp directories are writeable

I am trying to install on an Ubuntu 10.10 server with Apache2 and PHP 5.3.

Also, I did want to search this forum directly, but I cannot seem to find a search box! The sticky says there is one in the right column, but that doesn’t seem to exist?

Anyway, any help is much appreciated.

We are adding search box soon.

Check that your browser has cookie support also. And have you restarted your server?

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the response. This seems to be a google chrome issue (cookies are enabled and I have no blocking software).

I re-ran the installer in Firefox, and everything has installed perfectly.

Not sure what was going on, but now it is installed, I can login fine with Chrome or Firefox.
