How to record domain accounts as well as IPs

Hi everyone,

I have set up Piwik with our SharePoint farm and tracking is working well. Right now each visitor entry is separated by IP and I would like some additional information. I know this will be accomplished using custom variables but I was wondering if anyone with any experience with this could give me an example or pointers for how to do this.

I would like to record the domain username of whoever the visitor is. So in the visitors log instead of just the IP of the visitor machine, it would also list
DOMAIN\fiercepotato or something similar. Please let me know what advice you have. My PHP skills are not that great.
