How to collect and present in the dashboard different app settings (such as language, connected to server,.. )

Hi everyone,

Sorry I am also pretty new with matomo so hopefully my question is not too basic.

I am using Matomo to present data from usage of an app. One thing we are interested in looking and presenting are the way people set up the app, for instance the language the app is in, whether it is connected to a server,…

I have two questions:

  1. Currently we use events to record these settings that would only be recorded the first time a user open the app during the data collection campaign. Is there a better way to do it ?

  2. We would like to present in the dashboard for instance the percentage of people who have the app in english versus other languages, the percentage of people who are connected to a server,… But from what I can see on the dashboard, there is no way to split the events in different widgets to show one graph per event. Any idea? Did anyone find a creative solution to this?

I think (visit) custom dimension will do the job:

You can see the dimension (page type) values: diving or page.

Thanks Philippe, I’ll try this option and see if we can make it work.

Let me know if anyone else has a different solution that might work too!
