Goals vs. Ecommerce

Should I set up Goals for my online store even though I’ve already set up Ecommerce? This page indicates that I should use one or the other:

but each entry in my Ecommerce Log says “Visit converted 0 Goals”.

Would it work well to use Goals to track visits to the shopping cart page and each page of the checkout process to aid in abandoned cart analysis?

Yes you could do this it’s a good idea! You can also track others goals eg. contacts, signups, logins, etc.
