Can anyone explain where and how I can get the Matomo tracking code?

Hi,

Simply log into your Matomo instance, go to Administration->Websites->Tracking Code.

If you don’t have Matomo setup yet, you can simply install it on your server or try out the hosted Matomo instances by InnoCraft.

Thanks for the reply Lukas. I want to make sure I understand this.

If want to use the tracking code method, I need to use the Matomo Cloud-hosted (paid) solution.

Is their a way to get tracking code without hosted Matomo. I am asking because I cannot install Matomo on my hosting, according to the developers.

Hi,

You need to have a running Matomo setup somewhere where the tracking code can send the data to.

It doesn’t matter if this is your webserver, someone else’s webserver or the hosted instances by InnoCraft.
