Excluding URL parameters not working

I followed the instructions here:

I added a few parameters to exclude but when I visit the “Actions > Pages” report it still shows as if I didn’t add any parameters. Do I have to restart the Piwik server? How do I get the changes I made in the Administration console to show after I’ve clicked “Save”?

Here is a clarifying example of using Global list of Query URL parameters to exclude

In the below example, I make these track as the same URL
https://pikl.us/?99999=penultimate
https://pikl.us/

Find the config setting at
Dashboard >> :gear: >> Websites(Measurables) >> Settings >> Global websites settings >> Global list of Query URL parameters to exclude.

  1. I place the string 99999 in “parameters to exclude”
  2. A visitor requests https://pikl.us/?99999=penultimate
  3. This is how https://pikl.us appears in my log
  4. This is how https://pikl.us/?99999=penultimate appears in my log
