Coming from the TYPO3 world where they are very picky about backward compatibility I’m used to the fact that second decimal in a version number means “we didn’t touch the DB at all”… Is there such “policy” for Piwik ?
I’m still under 1.12 with 5 GB of data so I need to plan my migration before going to 2.0.x or 2.1.x.
I also need to know if there’s risks going from 1.12 to 2.1.x once it existed for few weeks or there is a recommendation to use in -between version (in my case 2.0.x) to upgrade?
Last question: I know there are plenty factors in giving upgrade time but do some people have an estimate for 5 GB of MySQL data to update from 1.12 to 2.x ? I got about 50k pageviews a day on my server…
