Hi all
When installing piwik there is the option to use an existing database or give piwik its own database. Are there any reasons why one of these is better? If my piwik installation is currently sharing a database is it easy to move it to its own database ie by duplicating the current database then deleting piwik tables in one database and non-piwik tables in the other database?

it’s possible to do both but we recommend to put Piwik in a separate DB for Security reasons and Best practise: How to configure Piwik for security - Analytics Platform - Matomo
