Hello. I’ve searched everywhere I can think/find to search for this, but no luck. I have just installed and am messing around with piwik and liking it.
But, when I set up the dashboard with the widgets I like, the dashboard is back to the normal defaul after I navigate away or close the browser. (Firefox updated)
I’ve done the ‘set as default widget selections’ several times, even created a new dashboard and set it as default widget selection, but both were back to the same old ones after closing the browser.
Any ideas?
I know this may defeat the purpose but can you take and add one widget at a time to see if its one particle widget that is causing this issue?
I can add any one widget, and it won’t be there when I go back. I’ve tried several, but it won’t matter. I just added only one to Admins Dashboard, went to the new dashboard, added a different one, went back to Admin’s, the new one was gone, added a different one, went to the new dashboard, the newly added one was gone, added a new different one, went back to Admin’s, the newly added one was gone, went back to the new dashboard, the newly added one was gone.
I can move the original widgets around and they stay where I put them after moving from dashboard to dashboard and if I close the browser. But any added widgets disappear.
Also tried IE, same problem.
hosting infor
Apache version 2.2.22
PHP version 5.3.10
MySQL version 5.0.96-community
Architecture x86_64
Operating system linux
Have set up Admin’s dashboard as I like it, then saved it as default, then started a new dashboard using default as template, but the new dashboard has usual starting/original widgets and positions.
It is like the custom layout is not being saved at all when I click ‘set as default widget selection’
Went to GA and moved things around, works normal like always even after closing browser etc they are where I put them.
Server stats seem ok,
what if you
delete browser cache and content of /piwik/tmp/assets/?
Did browser cache of course.
There are four files in /assests/
asset manager global css, js, css delfate and js deflate.
Should I delete all four? Do I have to restore them?
If you can back them up and see what happens. I personally haven’t done it but have read some posts where similar issues were recommended. Maybe see if one of the admins can weigh in?
Can you try with a different browsers? Are the new dashboards remembered, but only the layout + widget choice is not remembered ?
Tried IE and Firefox, both do it. The new dashboard has the same problem and the Admin’s. They both forget new widgets and rearranging.
Here is the error message that I get after I change the Dashboard:
The parameter ‘layout’ isn’t set in the Request, and a default value wasn’t provided.
#0 /var/customers/webs/statistics/plugins/Dashboard/Controller.php(265): Piwik_Common::getRequestVar(‘layout’)

Hi there,
It seems this is a bug in current version (or sth like that), two other people in german forum also reported this problem. And I also cannot save dashboard.
Thx
