I think the feature is planned.
We just have to wait.
My stats database was about 21Mo.
I went to my hosting phpMyAdmin and used it to optimize the tables.
My db is now only 11Mo.
Edit :
After that, i went to Piwik in the multisite plugin and selected year as timeframe.
I’ve optimized the db again and it droped down to 7.2 Mo.
