Is it possible to configure piwik to measure pageload speed?
I did a search and saw some research/development docs on this, but I can make anything of them

You have to use google page load api for this
Yes you can using custom variables to do it. There are many ways to do it. I use Jquery
I dropped Google analytics in favour of piwik, If I see any Google code here, I 'll be looking for another analytics solution
