Can I delete default Matomo site?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I can’t manage to find an answer in the documentation. I’m self-hosting Matomo to have visitor stats for my 3 tiny toy sites (no SEO, no revenue, no nothing). I didn’t understand anything in the welcome page that recommends to install with Tag Manager, and I eventually configured my stuff at “All web sites/ Add a new website”. It’s working fine, but I have 4 sites when I only need 3, and the default Matomo one shows welcome page every time I enter.

Is it a special site that provides admin features of some kind, or it’s just a regular site I can remove without consequences?

You can delete them. There are no settings that are linked in any way to a default page.

However, it’s possible that it’s currently the website linked in your Matomo user profile after you log in. You might want to change this website beforehand (Settings Personal ).
