Ok Cool.
With the ‘Keyword not Defined’ I know that it is to do with the search engine at source (Really only Google at the moment, because it is a block when people are logged into their Gmail accounts)
But I am getting considerably more since the upgrade then before, so I do wonder whether javascript or something else is being tracked slightly differently?
Yesterday for example on 1 site:
368 visits - Keyword not defined - 55 (Version 1.7)
Same day one week ago.
329 visits - No keyword not defined
Is this simply that the number of these is now being shown in the ‘List of Keywords’ and it wasn’t before?
I wonder if a good workaround / feature suggestion might be to add a different dropdown when you click on ‘Keyword not defined’ in ‘List of keywords’ as compared to the other keywords.
With the other keywords it shows the search engine breakdown.
ie
22 Google
15 Bing etc
That is pointless with ‘Keyword not defined’ because currently this blocking of the keyword term is only from Google, so it tells you nothing.
If 'Keyword not defined ’ is 22 for example, then clicking on the expansion box will simply show, “Google - 22”, which doesn’t add to the sum of information.
Instead of that why not show links to the pages that the ‘Keyword Not Defined’ ended up going to, because that can be tracked, and would at least give the webmaster a good idea about which keywords are not being tracked, simply by knowing which pages are being visited.
e.g ‘Keyword Not Defined’ - 22
Then a click on it to expand…
swan-page.html - 12
goose-page.html - 10
Now, even though I don’t know the keywords, I do at least have a better idea of what they might have been, simply by knowing the page.
