is there an plugin to reduce the memory size of the database? i cant find an option… any ideas?!

Well, as far as I read this is around double the real size. The visit tables are kept until a stable version is released to have the possibility to reanalyze them when new features or better algorithms are implemented.
Do i need to keep the piwik_archive_* tables for old months, or can i delete them (after backing them up)?
To free up a lot of space run the archive script located at piwik/misc/cron/archive.sh then use the database query in the troubleshooting faq #42 (Troubleshooting - Analytics Platform - Matomo) to remove archived data from piwik_log_visit and piwik_log_link_visit_action. After that’s done optimize all your tables.
The archive.sh script run every night style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
