Better use of page custom variables

it would be great if we could trigger goals based on custom page variables (ie someone hit a page with a certain custom variable)

also if we could have a widget like page views but for custom variables

it seems like the only thing you can use page level custom variables now is to segment on, is this correct?

Page Level custom variables are displayed in the Visitors > Custom Variables report. There is a widget for it. It shows both “page” and “visit” scope.
