I switched the archiving to a cron job. On the first run I got a message about the log not being creatable. I manually created it with perm 660 and owned by the process that the website runs under. The log is now being written.
I suggest that the documentation be updated to give guidance on the necessary perms.
Now I am noticing that the log messages contain messages referring to site 1 through site 8, as shown below. What are these multiple sites? I only have one site as far as I know.
