Here is my feedback:

(1) I received the latest “New Releases” email which claims this is a “Security release” “This release is rated critical” and explains that XSS and CSRF vulnerabilities were fixed, amongst other things.

but then

(2) In Piwik I go to the Administration page and it says “You are currently using Piwik 2.14.3” and so I click Check for Updates and it reports “You are using the latest version of Piwik!”

I understand that I can change my settings to always get the latest beta release, that may contain bugs. However, surely I should not have to change to beta releases to get a “Security release” that is “rated critical”! If you send out an email with a security alert then don’t force to user to switch to beta releases to get the fix! Anyway just my opinion, you asked for feedback

Hi Leo, that’s a good point. We could have ommitted this information in the changelog until the release date. Although if you care about the security fix (and it’s a good thing to care!) then please consider upgrading to the 2.15.0-RC which works really well according to our tests.

Hi,

My installation say it’s version 2.15.0-b13, but it doesn’t want to upgrade. It say it’s the latest.

I upgraded to this beta some weeks ago and then since i have a bug with a button on the widgets and wasn’t able to reproduce on the demo site, i decided to return to stable release. So what i do now, i go to the settings, select beta release channel, then a box appear a to right to check for a new version. I do it and it say it’s already latest. But then, if i go to dashboard a second and return to the settings page, the selected channel is back at stable release.

Seems weird. Maybe there’s nothing wrong, but it’s still a trange behavior.

Is it a bug or just me?

I’d like to express my dissatisfaction with the menu bar being on the left side, which now takes up almost 2 inches of space, making the data tables more difficult to read. Perhaps you will consider an setting so it can be changed back to along the top?
